How Ukraine's Home-Made Stugna Anti-Tank Missile May Be Better Than NATO's

The American Javelin and British Manpad are excellent shoulder-fired anti-tank missiles, sophisticated and extremely accurate.

The Ukrainian Stugna weighs 200 pounds and requires a three man crew. But it as accurate, costs one-third the price of the NATO missiles and it permits remote operation, giving the user a greater chance of survival from counter-battery fire. For those reasons, in this war, it is considered an effective asset. JL

Lee Bullen reports in Zenger:

Ukrainian paratroopers used Stugna-P anti-tank missile systems to destroy enemy tanks. The anti-tank missile system, designed and manufactured in Ukraine, boasts a laser-guided system with long-range and high penetration capabilities. The Stugna-P, also called the Skif, can reportedly penetrate armour as thick as 110 centimetres and reach distances of nearly six kilometres. On 5th April, the Ukrainian 95th Air Assault Brigade destroying a Russian killer chopper with the same guided missile system.

This is the video-game-like moment Ukrainian paratroopers target a Russian tank on the screen and blast it to pieces with a single shot from a homemade anti-tank guided missile system.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces said the strike was carried out by members of the 81st Airmobile Brigade.

It is unclear where in Ukraine the attack took place.

Packing a wallop, the Stugna-P anti-tank guided missile system is wreaking havoc on Russian hardware during the invasion of Ukraine.

On 5th April, the Ukrainian military shared footage of paratroopers of the 95th Air Assault Brigade destroying a Russian killer chopper with the same guided missile system.

The Russian Ka-52 ‘Alligator’ attack helicopter was reportedly destroyed in the north-eastern Ukrainian province of Kharkiv Oblast.

The footage was shared by the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the message: “The 95th Brigade, with the ‘Stugna’ anti-aircraft missile system, destroyed the latest Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter! We have a victory.”

The Ukrainian military included the hashtags ‘Take a Stand’ and ‘Strong Together’.
