"35,000 Twitter shares just went for $34.50 a pop on secondary shares market Sharespost, according to an email Sharespost sent investors.
That's an implied valuation of $7.8 billion. The $1.2 million auction was oversubscribed.
Funded in part by JP Morgan, Chris Sacca's $1 billion Twitter fund recently bought $400 million worth of Twitter stock at a $4 billion valuation.
In January, Sharespost sold 165,000 Facebook shares for $25 each in a similarly oversubscribed auction. That price implied a $56 billion valuation of Facebook. More recent investments put Facebook's valuation at $65 billion.
