Russians Blow Up Bridges, Plant Mines To Try Halting Ukraine's Kherson Attack

While Russia was focused on its grinding Donbas assault, Ukraine counterattacked hundreds of miles away near Kherson, catching the Russian troops there off guard and precipitating a retreat which involved blowing up bridges to halt the Ukrainian advance. JL

Anastasiia Kalatur reports in Ukraine Pravda:

The Russians have blown up bridges across the river Inhulets near Davydiv Brid and Velyka Oleksandrivka (Kherson Oblast). The Russians are being forced to strengthen their defences on the Kryvyi Rih front – they are tearing slabs off roads to build themselves fortifications and are planting mines along the banks of the river Inhulets. Russia is on the defensive. "They are afraid of a counterattack by the Ukrainian army." Fighting is continuing.

Quote: "Fighting is continuing on the line of contact. The enemy is seeking out ways and means to resist the counterattack by our forces. Special ruscist [Russian - ed.] units have blown up bridges over the river Inhulets in the area of Davydiv Brid and Velyka Oleksandrivka."

Details: As noted, the situation on the Kryvyi Rih front remains tense, but stable. The invaders continue shelling along the entire contact line using all kinds of MLRS, barrel artillery, tanks, and mortars. The Russians shelled Shyrokivska hromada [amalgamated territorial community] during the day and reportedly carried out an air strike near the village of Davydiv Brid.
