How Ukraine Mariupol Partisans Poisoned Russian Troops, Killing 40+

Using poisoned food and vodka, Ukrainian partisans in occupied Mariupol have killed more than 40 Russian soldiers in at least two separate incidents in recent months. 

This does not include the numbers of Russians killed in the city by more conventional means and signals ongoing opposition to the occupation from citizens living there. JL

Ukrainian partisans have killed more than 40 Russian soldiers in Mariupol in recent months by poisoning. “They were fed poison. The cooks are safe now, as are their families.” A number of such successful partisan operations have been reported in recent months. "The activity of partisans became possible because of rotation [of personnel] and because the orcs are idiots. We spy on a warehouse, a missile will (hit) headquarters, we leave poisoned vodka, we will help with food, a car suddenly explodes...”

Ukrainian partisans have killed more than 40 Russian soldiers in Mariupol in recent months, a significant majority of them by poisoning, it has been claimed.

In the most recent incident, Kyiv Post sources among Mariupol partisans said an operation that was several weeks in the planning resulted in the deaths of 26 of Moscow’s troops and the hospitalization of another 15.

“This is the activity of partisans. It became possible because of a new rotation [of personnel] and because the orcs [derogatory term for Russians] are idiots,” the Mariupol guerrillas said in conversation with the Kyiv Post.

The source did not say where the poisoning took place but added: “They were fed poison. The cooks are safe now, as are their families.”

A number of such successful partisan operations have been reported in recent months. In August, two Russian officers were killed and 15 others hospitalized in a mass poisoning carried out by Ukrainian partisans which targeted Russian occupation troops as they celebrated Navy Day in Mariupol.

In a post on Telegram on Monday, the advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, totaled up the figures from known incidents.

“In total, over the summer and two months of autumn, the Mariupol Resistance eliminated more than 40 occupiers in various ways,” Andriushchenko wrote.

In the summer of 2023, five Russian soldiers drowned in the city of Mariupol, after consuming poisoned alcohol.In July, Ukrainska Pravda quoted an unnamed Russian officer who said that eight Russian soldiers had been found murdered in the city during the preceding two weeks - six had been stabbed and two shot in the back of the head.

No one claimed the killings and the officer said the occupying authorities concealed the incidents to avoid panic among Russian military units.

“We are helping you as much as we can: somewhere we will spy on a warehouse, somewhere a missile will fly to the headquarters, somewhere we will leave poisoned vodka, somewhere we will help with food, somewhere a car suddenly explodes...” the Mariupol resistance members added.
