Ukrainian Forces Continue Advances Around Bakhmut, Tokmak

Despite Russia's suicidal assaults towards Avdiivka and other targets in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian forces have kept up their attacks around Bakhmut and towards Tokmak, suggesting that they view those southerly fronts as more strategically significant.

It may also reveal that despite the scale of the Avdiivka and related assaults, Ukraine views them as intended to stop the southern offensive, not as important threats on their own. JL

Yuri Zoria reports in Euromaidan Press:

Geolocated footage from 24 October indicates that Ukrainian forces made further advances west of Robotyne, western Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The Ukrainian General Staff has also confirmed success in areas to the west of Verbove, located 9km from Robotyne. Ukrainian troops are also actively engaging in offensive operations in eastern Ukraine in the vicinity of Klishchiivka (7km southwest of Bakhmut) and Andriivka (10km southwest of Bakhmut).

Ukraine continues its months-long offensive actions on the southern and eastern fronts.

Ukrainian forces marginally advanced in western Zaporizhzhia Oblast and continued offensive operations near Bakhmut on 25 October, the US-based think tank Institute for the Study of War reports.
