Ukrainian forces destroyed three Russian fighter jets on the morning of 17 February, Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Ukraine’s Air Force. Two Russian Su-34 bombers and one Su-35 fighter were shot down. On 22 December 2023, Ukrainian forces forces destroyed three Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber aircraft in the country’s south. Last May, Ukrainian air defenders used the Patriot system to shoot down five Russian airframes – a fighter jet, a bomber, and three helicopters – in Russian airspace simultaneously.

Ukrainian forces destroyed three Russian fighter jets on the morning of 17 February, Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Ukraine’s Air Force, reported via Telegram.

The details provided by Oleshchuk indicate that two Russian Su-34 bombers and one Su-35 fighter were shot down.

The commander did not specify what weapons were used to shoot down the three Russian bombers.
