Ukrainian 79th Brigade Paratroopers Repel Repeated Russian Marinka Assaults

What may be most interesting about the repeated assaults around Marinka is the evidence of Russian failure to build on the capture of Avdiivka.

In addition, that the Ukrainian forces report of Russians using 'ersatz' armored personnel carriers confirms ongoing observation of equipment shortages in Russian units due to repeated failed attacks. JL

Militarnyi reports:

Paratroopers of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade have successfully repulsed another Russians assault on Novomykhailivka. The Russian vehicles first exploded on mines, and the rest were finished off by soldiers and drones. The destroyed vehicles included tanks and ersatz armored personnel carriers based on the MT-LB tracked tractor. Novomykhaylivka is located about 12 kilometers south of Mariinka, which Russian forces have been trying to capture since 2014.

Paratroopers of the 79th Separate Tavrian Air Assault Brigade of Mykolaiv have demonstrated another successful repulse of the Russians’ failed assault on Novomykhailivka.

The brigade’s press service reported on this.

“The enemy pays a high price for every assault on the paratroopers’ positions of the 79th Air Assault Brigade near Novomykhailivka. The land is burning under the Russian invaders. And it will continue to burn because the 79th Air Assault Brigade is working here,” the statement reads.

The Russian vehicles first exploded on mines, and the rest were finished off by soldiers and drones with ammunition.

The destroyed vehicles included tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, including BMP-1AM Basurmanin and ersatz armored personnel carriers based on the MT-LB tracked tractor.

The paratroopers of the 79th Air Assault Brigade are constantly repelling fierce enemy assaults on Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.

On March 23, Militarnyi reported on another unsuccessful attempt to storm this settlement. The soldiers of the 79th Air Assault Brigade destroyed Russian soldiers with the help of drones and artillery.

Previously, on March 11, the 79th Air Assault Brigade showed the footage of the destruction of Russian soldiers.

The first seconds captured the Ukrainian artillery firing on the Russian convoy and the destruction of the IFV, which then caught fire.

Behind a destroyed infantry fighting vehicle was an MT-LB tracked tractor used as an armored personnel carrier, but the footage shows that it did not move.

Novomykhaylivka is located about 12 kilometers south of Mariinka, which Russian forces have been trying to capture since 2014.

Invaders have intensified these assaults since early October 2023, and now control the area where Mariinka used to be, as the settlement itself no longer actually exists.
