Sweden Oks Ukraine Targeting Russian Territory As France Sends Instructors
Russian war crimes and increasing Kremlin aggression are causing Ukraine's European allies to directly address the threat. Swedish Archer howitzers in use by Ukraine can fire a shell 30 to 60 kilometers. And Sweden has become the first Ukrainian ally to permit Ukraine to use its weapons to hit targets on Russian territory.
France has announced its intention of sending instructors to Ukraine, the Baltic countries are prepared to send troops to Ukraine and Poland is considering defending western Ukrainian air space. There is growing pressure in the US to permit use of its weapons against Russian territory. JL

Sweden has transferred a
number of weapons to Ukraine including CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, TOW anti-tank missiles,
RBS 70 man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems as well as Archer
self-propelled gun-howitzers able to hit at a distance of 30
km with a conventional projectile, 40 km with a rocket engine, and 60 km
with an Excalibur guided artillery shell. Oleksandr
Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has signed
documents allowing the first French instructors to visit Ukrainian
training centres and get acquainted with their infrastructure and
personnel. Syrskyi expressed hope that soon other partners will join this
project.

to Jonson, Ukraine is the object of an unprovoked and illegal war of
russian aggression, and therefore has the right to defend itself.

According to international law, Ukraine has the right to defend itself
by means of hostilities aimed at the territory of the adversary as long
as the hostilities comply with the laws of war. Sweden stands behind
international law and Ukraine's right to defend itself," Pål Jonson
stated.

During
russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Stockholm has transferred a

episode could be a message to other countries that may lift the ban on
the use of their weapons to strike military facilities in russia.
