Warriors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed a spectacular destruction of a russian assault group in close combat in the Toretsk direction. The enemy tried to take advantage of the foggy weather to storm Ukrainian positions, but the russians came under heavy fire from soldiers of the 2nd mechanized battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported on the official Telegram account of the 28th Mechanized Brigade named after Knights of the Winter March.
"Not being able to break through to us in small groups, the enemy began to increase the number of stormtroopers to 20 people. But the only thing that changed from this was the number of losses. And the recent storm is a vivid example of this," the post says.
It is noted that taking advantage of the foggy weather, a group of occupiers managed to get to the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but they were covered with fire by infantrymen of the 2nd mechanized battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade.
Ukrainian forces destroyed part of the group of russians at close range. One occupier managed to fall into a trench, but "he was quickly smoked out of there with grenades."
"The rest of the assault group began to flee, hide and pretend to be eliminated. However, each was hunted down by pilots of the Unmanned Systems Battalion and "Kurt&Company" unit," ukrainian military wrote.
As reported, "only one occupier was lucky, because he decided to surrender." However, he turned out to be an Egyptian citizen, so, according to the fighters, the infantrymen had to explain everything with gestures.
As a reminder, today the losses of russian troops amount to 780,860 soldiers of russia’s army. Over the past day, another 1,540 Russian occupiers were eliminated.
