At Pokrovsk, Ukrainian Drone, Artillery Force Russia To Limit Armor Attacks

Across the front in Ukraine, 46% of Russian attacks launched are in the Pokrovsk sector.

But the damage from Ukrainian drones and artillery is so great that the Russians have now limited the use of armor in that sector in an effort to try to reduce the carnage. JL

Espreso Ukraine reports:

Russia has reduced mechanized assaults in the Pokrovsk sector due to Ukraine's effective artillery and drone strikes. Russian mechanized groups are being destroyed even before reaching our defensive lines. The Russians no longer attempt to move in columns of equipment. In most cases, they are moving in small infantry groups." 193 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front over the past day. In the Pokrovsk sector alone, the Russian army carried out 88 attacks (46% of the total number of Russian attacks)

Senior Lieutenant Artem Penkov of the Kara-Dag Brigade says that Russia has reduced mechanized assaults in the Pokrovsk sector due to Ukraine’s effective artillery and drone strikes

He shared the information on Espreso TV.

"We are observing a reduction in the use of Russian mechanized units for offensive operations. This is happening due to the quite effective and successful work of our artillery systems and strike drones. In other words, the combined efforts of artillerymen and UAV operators are yielding good results. Russian mechanized groups are being destroyed even before reaching our defensive lines. The Russians no longer attempt to move in columns of equipment. In most cases, they are moving in small infantry groups," Penkov said.

The officer noted that Russian forces are also effectively using various types of strike and reconnaissance drones.

"Russian troops in the Pokrovsk sector are using all the weaponry available to them, including mortars, artillery systems, and even aviation. It is worth noting that the Russians are quite effectively using various types of strike and reconnaissance drones, which are covered by electronic warfare systems. In other words, we are continuing a very tough battle against Russian drones and their reconnaissance tools," he added.

On January 29, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that 193 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front over the past day. In the Pokrovsk sector alone, the Russian army carried out 88 attacks.
