Russian Forces Suffer 60,000 Casualties In Kursk Battles To Date

Russian forces have suffered over 60,000 killed and wounded in Kursk oblast fighting to date. This includes 4,500 North Koreans. 

The numbers suggest that Ukraine's attrition strategy which diverted Russian units from other sectors, has been effective. JL

Defense Express reports:

Russian forces have suffered over 60,000 casualties in the Kursk zone, including 4,500 North Koreans killed and wounded, as intense fighting continues. In addition, 983 Russian soldiers have been captured during the fighting to date.  

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that russian forces have suffered over 60,000 casualties in the Kursk operational zone, with intense fighting continuing

Since the launch of the Kursk operation on August 6, 2024, russian losses in this sector have been as follows:

  • Personnel losses: 62,400;
  • Irrecoverable losses: 25,200;
  • Sanitary (wounded) losses: 36,200.

In addition, the General Staff confirmed that 983 russian soldiers have been captured during the fighting.

 

"This has enabled successful prisoner exchanges, allowing hundreds of our soldiers to return home from russian captivity," the Ukrainian military stated.

At the same time, it has been confirmed that total losses of north Korean forces operating in the Kursk sector have exceeded 4,500 personnel, including both killed and wounded.

"The fight continues," the General Staff of Ukraine emphasized.
