In August Ukraine Systematically Hit All Russian Oil Refineries Within 1,000 Miles

Putin is not going to China this weekend to watch a military parade: he desperately needs financial and military assistance.

And everyone - especially the Chinese - knows it. JL

Defense Express reports:

In August, Ukraine has carried out 10 or more strikes on Russian oil refineries and is close to completely disabling the last 2 to 3 main fuel producers in western Russia. The effective attacks on the Kuibyshev, Samara and the Afipsky, Krasnodar Krai oil refining complexes mean that Ukraine is successfully completing the methodical elimination of all major oil refineries located at a distance of up to 1,000 km on the territory of the Russian federation. Drone videos capture the arrival of Ukrainian drones, the unsuccessful attempts of the Russian air defense system to prevent it and large scale fires.

In August, Ukraine has carried out more than 10 effective strikes on russian oil refineries and is very close to completing the disabling of the last 2-3 of the main fuel producers in this part of russia

On the night of Friday, August 28, Ukraine continued its systematic strikes on russian oil refineries, successfully striking the Kuibyshev refinery in Samara, as well as the Afipsky refinery in Krasnodar Krai, russia.

Available footage from the scene shows an extremely large-scale fire that engulfed the oil refinery in Samara as a result of strikes carried out by the Lyuty strike UAVs. One of the videos captures everything at once: a large-scale fire, the arrival of Ukrainian drone, as well as the unsuccessful attempts of the russian air defense system to prevent it.

A similar picture of the results of the strike is observed in the Krasnodar Krai, at the Afipsky refinery, which is far from the first time that it has been attacked and disabled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The effective attacks on these two oil refining complexes mean that Ukraine is successfully completing the methodical elimination of all major oil refineries located at a distance of up to 1,000 km on the territory of the russian federation.

It is worth recalling that in August of this year the Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck the following russian refineries:

• August 2: Ryazan Refinery and Novokuybyshev Refinery (also in Samara)

• August 7: Afipsky Refinery

• August 10: Saratov Refinery

• August 13: Volgograd Refinery ("Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka")

• August 15: Syzran Refinery

• August 19: Volgograd Refinery ("Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka")

• August 24: Syzran Refinery and Novoshakhtinsky Refinery

• August 25: Ilsky Refinery

• August 28: Kuibyshev Refinery (in Samara) and Afipsky Refinery

Here's what it looks like on the map:

Ukraine Is Systematically Striking All Major russian Refineries At Distance of Up to 1000 km, Map

Among the russian refineries that haven't been hit in a long time: the Nizhnekamsk Refinery, which is located next to Naberezhnye Chelny as well as to the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, where the Shahed-type drones are being assemble d. The drones last visited there on February 11, 2025.

Also, for quite some time, since March 14, the Tuapse oil refinery on the Black Sea coast north of Sochi has not been on fire. We should not forget about the oil refinery in Moscow itself – іn Kapotnya district, although this facility, of course, along with the capital of the russian federation, is protected to the maximum. That is probably why the Defense Forces of Ukraine on August 26 of this year struck the Ryazan-Moscow oil pipeline, which supplies the Moscow refinery in Kapotnya with oil products.
