Ukraine Has Liberated 185 Km Around Pokrovsk As Russian Losses Rise

As of this morning, Ukrainian forces have liberated, eg, retaken, 185 kilometers of territory around Pokrovsk. In addition, given the chaotic nature of the fighting, they have cleared another 243 kilometers of Russian troops although the Ukrainians may not yet fully control those areas. 

This is a significant development given the effort expended by the Kremlin in its attempts to take Pokrovsk for over a year. It confirms reports about Russia's ongoing manpower and logistics troubles. JL

Ukrainian troops continue to hold back Russian forces near Pokrovsk. As of October 26, Ukrainian soldiers had liberated 185.6 km² and cleared another 243.8 km² of territory in the Pokrovsk district. In the past 10 days, Russian forces lost 1,756 personnel and 75 pieces of equipment in this direction. Over the past two months, their losses exceeded 15,700 personnel and 1,364 pieces of military equipment, including 36 tanks, 121 armored combat vehicles, 162 artillery systems, five multiple launch rocket systems, 447 vehicles, 592 motorcycles and ATVs, and one piece of special equipment. Additionally, 4,689 UAVs were destroyed.

Over the past 10 days, Ukrainian troops have regained control of two settlements in the Ocheretyne area of Donetsk region and continue to hold back Russian forces near Pokrovsk

Ukraine’s General Staff reported the information.

Despite difficult conditions in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration and along the Ocheretyne section of the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders have recaptured Kucheriv Yar and Sukhetske.

“Since August 21, 2025, the situation in this area has stabilized. Control over nine settlements has been restored, and nine more have been cleared of enemy sabotage groups,” the report stated.

According to Ukrainska Pravda there are over 200 Russian soldiers inside Pokrovsk. Ukranian drone operators are being targeted and killed by these troops.
