Ukraine Blows Up Another Russian Fuel Tanker Train In Zaporizhzhia

Lack of fuel due to attacks like this are another reason why Russia is having trouble maintaining its spring-summer offensive this year. JL

Demian Shevko reports in New Voice of Ukraine:
Ukrainian intelligence operatives have destroyed Russian fuel tanks in temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya Oblast, targeting the Russian military logistics train with drones. Russian forces had managed to pull back part of a convoy of 18 to 20 fuel tankers in the direction of Melitopol  “Thick columns of black smoke and fire from the diesel and other fuel materials rose into the sky.”

Ukrainian intelligence operatives have destroyed Russian fuel tanks in temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya Oblast, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) reported on June 22, releasing footage of the explosions.

According to HUR, fighters from its special unit Kabul 9, operating in coordination with the Southern Defense Forces, the Alpha special forces unit, and the State Special Communications group Next, targeted a Russian military train with strike drones.

“Thick columns of black smoke and fire from the diesel and other fuel materials rose into the sky,” HUR said in a statement accompanying the video.

Earlier that same day, Petro Andriushchenko, a former advisor to the mayor of Mariupol and head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, said in his Telegram channel that Russian forces had managed to pull back part of a convoy of 18 to 20 fuel tankers in the direction of Melitopol.

“Everything they didn’t manage to save will remain there forever,” Andriushchenko wrote.

He added that occupation forces have begun search operations, attempting to identify HUR agents involved in the strike.
