Ukrainian Counterattack In Zaporizhzhia Takes Out Russian Assault Group

In yet another report of Ukrainian units not only holding their positions but counterattacking Russian troops in embattled sectors of the front, Ukraine's 210th Assault Regiment took out Russian recon forces in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

The action is primarily significant as part of a pattern revealing that Russian forces are being stymied across the front as Ukrainian groups opportunistically counterattack. This reinforces the narrative that rather than 'winning,' as the Kremlin claims, the Russians are hardpressed to do anything other than hold on grimly for what they hope may be a ceasefire. JL

The first assault battalion of the 210th Assault Regiment advanced in Zaporizhzhya Oblast. The troops dislodged a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group and captured positions using artillery and drones to support the assault troops. The Ukrainian forces liberated the territory without any losses. 

The first assault battalion of the 210th Separate Assault Regiment advanced in Zaporizhzhya Oblast through a meticulously planned operation, according to a statement on the regiment’s Facebook page on July 27.

The troops dislodged a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group and captured positions that other units had unsuccessfully attempted to take for an extended period.

“This success was possible solely due to a carefully planned and flawlessly executed assault operation, utilizing artillery and drones to support the assault troops,” the statement said. Ukrainian forces liberated the territory without any losses..
