With Black Sea Fleet Sunk, Dispersed, Ukraine's Navy Raids Russian Shore Defenses

Having effectively eliminated Russia's once proud Black Sea Fleet and rendered much of its Sebastopol naval base inoperative, the Ukrainian Navy is now focusing its attacks on Russian shore installations along the coast, using fast new attack boats supplied by its NATO allies.

These raids, often targeting electronic surveillance systems, have reduced Russia's ability to monitor coastal and sea-borne activity. JL

Sofiia Syngaivska reports in Defense Express:

On the night of July 28th, a Ukrainian special forces unit conducted a night time raid on the occupied Tendra Spit, a narrow strip of land along the occupied northwestern Black Sea coast. Ukrainian operatives neutralized military presence on the spit, including Russian personnel, Zont electronic warfare system and the Rosa radar station. Ukrainian forces raised a national flag over the site following the operation. No casualties were reported on the Ukrainian side. The Tendra Spit has been used by russian forces to support regional electronic monitoring and disruption. By eliminating this outpost, Ukraine has reduced Russian surveillance capabilities in the area.

Ukrainian special forces unit conducted a nighttime raid on russian positions in the northern Black Sea, dismantling electronic warfare and radar systems

On the night of July 28, a special forces unit from the Department of Active Operations of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine conducted a combat operation in the northern Black Sea region. The group landed on the Tendra Spit, a narrow strip of land under temporary russian occupation, and carried out a targeted strike against enemy positions.

Ukrainian operatives neutralized military presence on the spit, including russian personnel, Zont electronic warfare system and Rosa radar station. Ukrainian forces raised a national flag over the site following the operation. No casualties were reported on the Ukrainian side.

The Tendra Spit is located along the northwestern coast of the Black Sea and has been used by russian forces to support regional electronic monitoring and disruption. By eliminating this outpost, Ukraine has likely reduced russian surveillance capabilities in the area.

The operation was made possible, in part, by the use of modern watercraft supplied through the Boats for GUR initiative.

Such equipment has expanded the range and flexibility of the missions, particularly in coastal and island environments. The raid on the Tendra Spit demonstrates the practical impact of improved mobility and planning for targeted missions.

As Defense Express previously reported, the Ukrainian Air Force pilots of the West Air Command continue to perform critical combat missions in defense of national airspace. Among them is a standout aviator with the callsign Denfix, the MiG-29 fighter pilot known for his exceptional combat record and precise intercepts of enemy targets.

The West Air Command recently released footage showcasing Denfix's combat flights, highlighting his role in safeguarding Ukrainian skies from missiles and drones. The pilot, serving in the Sevastopol Tactical Aviation Brigade, has become one of Ukraine's most effective aerial defenders, credited with the destruction of over 20 enemy targets.
