Ukrainian Drones Destroy New Russian Pontoon Bridge Over Seym River

Ukraine destroyed the three bridges over the Seym River which Russian forces could use to supply and reinforce their remaining units in the Glushkovo district of Kursk. The Russians attempted to build a pontoon bridge to resupply those troops as they planned their retreat from the encircled area.

So the Ukrainians blew up the pontoon bridge as well. JL

Militarnyi reports:

Ukrainian special forces used drones to hit the vehicles and equipment of a Russian pontoon and bridge unit in the Kursk region. A PP-91M vehicle with a PMP-M floating bridge and EOV-3521 army bucket excavator were hit. The site of the Russian engineering unit was to the west of the village of Glushkovo. The attempted pontoon crossing was supposed to compensate for logistical disruptions after three bridges in the nearest settlements were damaged. Without the three destroyed road bridges, the Russian troops in the Glushkovsky district risk being cut off and operationally encircled.

The SOF used drones to hit the vehicles and equipment of a Russian pontoon and bridge unit in the Kursk region.

Volunteer and blogger Serhii Sternenko released the video of the incident.

“Requiem group” unit operators of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces destroyed the engineering equipment of a Russian unit that had deployed a pontoon crossing over the Seim River.

In particular, the PP-91M vehicle with the PMP-M floating bridge and the EOV-3521 army bucket excavator were hit.

The site of the Russian engineering unit’s defeat was located (here) to the west of the village of Glushkovo, Kursk region.

This pontoon crossing was detected on satellite imagery on August 17. The drones presumably attacked the Russian unit during the closing of the crossing.

The crossing compensated for logistical disruptions after destroying two bridges in the nearest settlements: Glushkovo and Zvannoye. Precise air strikes by Ukrainian aviation destroyed them.

The only currently functioning crossing that allows vehicles to move is the bridge in the village of Karyzh, 10 kilometers from Zvannoye.

Without these bridges, the Russian troop grouping in the Glushkovsky district of the region risks being cut off from other forces and operationally encircled.

Previously, Ukrainian tactical aviation has conducted several strikes with precision weapons against Russian facilities in the area in recent days.

On August 19, the Ukrainian Air Force bombed a border outpost of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Kursk region with JDAM-ER bombs.

On August 13, Ukrainian aircraft hit command and observation posts and a hangar with equipment of the Russian troops in the village of Tyotkino.
