After being exchanged in a prisoner swap, captured Russian soldiers spent several months in a special filtration camp. As punishment for surrendering, they were sent back to the front and launched into a suicidal assault against the same 110th Mechanized Brigade. "A squad of Russian assault troops attacked an open area in full view, advancing on a Ukrainian stronghold. The soldiers of the 110th Brigade, like in a shooting range, wiped out all the attackers. When intelligence gathered the documents of the dead, they were surprised — these Russians had already been prisoners of the 110th Brigade and were sent back to Russia. The Russian command doesn’t trust soldiers who surrender "
Soldiers from Ukraine’s 110th Mechanized Brigade eliminated Russian troops near Pokrovske who had previously been taken prisoner, Ukrainian journalist Yurii Butusov reported on his Telegram channel on Oct. 22.
According to Butusov, after being exchanged in a prisoner swap, the captured Russian soldiers spent several months in a special filtration camp. As punishment for surrendering, they were sent back to the front and launched into a suicidal assault against the same 110th Brigade.
"A squad of Russian assault troops attacked an open area in full view, advancing on a Ukrainian stronghold. The soldiers of the 110th Brigade, like in a shooting range, wiped out all the attackers. When our intelligence gathered the documents of the dead, they were surprised — these Russians had already been prisoners of the 110th Brigade and were sent back to Russia in the exchange. It’s clear that the Russian command doesn’t trust soldiers who surrendered, and they send them into attacks to make sure they don’t come back. No one in Russia will stand up for them. Putin is fighting this war down to the last Russian," Butusov said, publishing the personal details of a few of the dead invaders.
