Ukrainian defense intelligence received information about a planned meeting with the participation of officers of the command of the Russian 135th Motor Rife Regiment at the 4th Guards Military Base in the Zaporizhzhia region. A precision strike by HIMARS, including cluster munitions, targeted the gathering of Russian officers and their vehicles. A Ukrainian reconnaissance drone tracked the damage to the invaders. Additionally, five vehicles of the invaders were destroyed.A precision strike in the Zaporizhzhia region eliminated three captains of the Russian invasion army.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) said that this was the result of a successful operation by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
They joined the operation: The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s Active Operations Department, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the Tavria operational-strategic group.
The DIU shared that initially, their employees received information about a planned meeting with the participation of officers of the command of the 4th Guards Military Base of the Russian invasion forces, who were participating in the war against Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region.
After verifying and confirming the data, Ukrainian military intelligence officers developed a plan of operation, which was joined by the Tavria operational-strategic group, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the SSU’s tactical group Typhoon.
According to intelligence, immediately after the field meeting of the Russian invaders began, a precision strike by HIMARS, including cluster munitions, targeted the gathering of Russian officers and their vehicles. A Ukrainian reconnaissance drone tracked the damage to the invaders.
“Upon arrival of the evacuation group, the invaders were attacked by attack drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” the DIU detailed.
It is reported that three officers of the Russian invasion forces were killed in the operation:
- Captain Dmitry Olegovich Nagornyi, commander of the 1st battalion of the 135th Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces;
- Captain Grigory Aleksandrovich Krokhmalov, deputy head of intelligence staff and chief of reconnaissance of the 135th Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces;
- Captain Yuriy Viktorovich Fomin, commander of the anti-aircraft battery of the 4th Guards Military Base of the Russian Armed Forces.
Additionally, five vehicles of the invaders were destroyed.
The fact that the Russian officers were killed is confirmed by the invaders themselves. They complain that Ukrainian special services lured them to a predetermined location.
There, they were supposed to deliver “humanitarian aid” from Russian so-called “volunteers” who support the Russian invasion army in the war against Ukraine.
Last month, Ukrainian artillery struck a training ground in the Zaporizhzhia region where Russian infantry was conducting exercises.
