Russian Troops Refuse Order To Storm Dnipro Islands Amid Ceasefire Talk

No soldier wants to be the last man to die for a war that may be about to end anyway.

And that is especially true for Rusians on the Dnipro front who have watched their friends get slaughtered in senseless amphibious assault attempts. JL

Amira Barkhush reports in United24:

Russian troops are refusing to follow orders to storm islands in the Kherson region due to losses and rumors of a possible ceasefire in the near future. “Soldiers from the 24th and 26th Motorized Rifle Regiments are actively sabotaging orders to launch assaults. The reason is simple—too many of their comrades never returned from similar operations and remained in the waters of the Dnipro.” Rumors of a possible freeze in hostilities are eroding morale among the Russian troops. “Many realize that dying for a few square meters of foreign land is pointless, especially if a halt in fighting may be imminent.”

Russian troops are allegedly refusing to follow orders to storm islands in the Kherson region due to losses and rumors of a possible ceasefire in the near future. This was reported by Atesh on March 4.

“Soldiers from the 24th and 26th motorized rifle regiments are actively sabotaging orders to launch assaults. The reason is simple—too many of their comrades never returned from similar operations and remained in the waters of the Dnipro,” Atesh wrote on their Telegram channel.

Atesh added that rumors of a possible freeze in hostilities are eroding morale among the Russian troops.

“Many realize that dying for a few square meters of foreign land is pointless, especially if a halt in fighting may be imminent,” the statement reads.

Partisans note that the boats used to transport assault troops are in dire condition, with many repeatedly breaking down due to sabotage.

After a meeting of world leaders in London on March 2, French President Emmanuel Macron disclosed that France and the UK had proposed a one-month ceasefire in Ukraine, aimed at protecting air, sea, and energy infrastructure.

On December 5, 2024, Atesh reported that Russian troops were drowning attempting to land on the Dnipro Islands in Kherson.
