In Kursk Oblast, Ukrainian Paratroops Hold On - Inflict Casualties, Take Prisoners

Ukrainian air assault brigades are continuing to hold their positions in Kursk oblast and have inflicted both casualties and damage on Russian naval infantry units still attempting to eject them from the territory.

The Ukrainian paratroopers have captured a number of Russian marines, significant because such surrenders are not generally a sign of an advancing military. JL

Sofiia Syngaivska reports in Defense Express and Roman Pryhodko reports in Militarnyi:
Recon drone teams from the 80th Air Assault Brigade over the past week have destroyed at least five armored vehicles in the Kursk region, including the Tigr armored vehicle, one APC, and three BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles and captured nine Russian Marines from the 810th Guards Naval Infantry BrigadeThe 82nd Air Assault Brigade, working alongside allied forces, also successfully fought off a mechanized assault on the outskirts of the village of Guyevo in Kursk.

Recon-drone teams from the 80th Air Assault Brigade hit multiple russian armored targets, stalling enemy offensives on their own soil

Ukrainian paratroopers from the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade continue to demonstrate exceptional skill in neutralizing enemy equipment on russian territory. Over the past week alone, they have destroyed at least five armored vehicles in the Kursk region, including the Tigr armored vehicle, one APC, and three BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles.

The key role in these operations was played by drone operators of the Kytaytsi reconnaissance-strike UAV unit. Their precise strikes were instrumental in thwarting yet another russian attack, with their drones effectively disrupting enemy plans and targeting armored assets with high accuracy.

This success is part of broader Ukrainian campaign in Kursk front, where Ukrainian forces are not only defending but actively striking russian troops deep into their territory.

In addition, Ukrainian Air Assault Forces and affiliated units captured nine Russian Marines in the Kursk region. The captured Russian soldiers were part of the 810th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade. Despite the reports  claiming that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have withdrawn from the Kursk region, the defenders continue to hold off the enemy. The 82nd Air Assault Brigade, working alongside allied forces, successfully fought off a mechanized assault on the outskirts of the village of Guyevo.

Earlier reports detailed that russian troops have begun constructing so-called anti-drone corridors in Kursk region, aiming to shield military equipment from Ukrainian drone strikes.

Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, stated that these corridors are being set up to allow russian vehicles to move more safely near the border with Ukraine.

The defensive measure appears to be a response to frequent attacks by Ukrainian FPV drones on russian positions and equipment in the area.
