At Pokrovsk, Ukrainian Forces Destroy 4 Companies Of Attacking Russians

Putin evidently believes he has to keep trying to take what is left of Pokrovsk in order to convince an increasingly skeptical world that Mother Russia remains a military threat.

It is clear that the worst reputational damage was done several years ago, which is why Europe and much of the rest of the civilized word continues to support Ukraine, and that subsequent failures and embarrassments have only served to reinforce the sensibility of that initial observation. Even the willingly credulous US administration - visions of big money blinding it - is having a hard time believing the Kremlin these days. So, the Russians continue to attack Pokrovsk, and hapless Russian, Sri Lankan, Cuban, Nepalese and countless other global cannon fodder pay the price. JL

Olena Mukhina reports in RFU News:

Ukrainian forces destroyed nearly four platoons of Russian infantry in a single day at the Pokrovsk axis. The soldiers have reported the Russian forces deployed 90 assault troops to this operation. The the cover of fog, the Russians attempted to advance using cars, motorcycles and quad bikes. The attempted breakthrough ended in complete failure for Russian forces. Moscow views the potential capture of Pokrovsk as a way to project an image of “inevitable victory” to US President Donald Trump. The attack was thwarted by the Spartan Brigade and the Birds of Madyar drone regiment.

Ukrainian forces have destroyed nearly four platoons of Russian infantry in a single day at the Pokrovsk axis, according to the Spatan brigade. The soldiers have reported that Russian occupation forces deployed 90 assault troops to this operation.

Moscow views the potential capture of Pokrovsk as a way to project an image of “inevitable victory” to US President Donald Trump amid peace talks. The Kremlin is attempting to force Ukraine into ceding Donbas, including well-fortified Ukrainian defensive lines that have been built since 2014.

The Spartan brigade was formed in Kharkiv at the outset of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014. Today, its combat experience, combined with modern technology, drones, and Western military assistance, allows Ukrainian units to stop significantly larger Russian troops.

Winter fog hasn't concealed Russian occupiers

“Under the cover of fog, the Russians attempted to advance using cars, motorcycles, and quad bikes,” the brigade reports.

Spatan has halted the assault with the elite Birds of Madiar Regiment. It is regarded as one of Ukraine's most effective drone formations, led by Commander Robert Brovdi, that destroys thousands of Russian targets each month.

Russia loses quad bikes, too

Over the course of one day of fighting, Russian forces suffered heavy losses:

  • 80 Russian assault troops killed
  • 2 wounded
  • 2 captured

Ukrainian forces also destroyed:

  • 10 quad bikes
  • 4 motorcycles
  • 6 Russian military vehicles

The attempted rapid breakthrough using mobile assault groups ended in complete failure for Russian forces.
