Russian Casualties Double As Attacks Increase But Fail Across Entire Frontline

Ukraine inflicted double the number of casualties on Russia as the Kremlin increased the number of its attacks, all of which failed to gain any additional territory.

The Russians are trying to recover from their winter failure as the weather warms but have proven incapable of improving their performance anywhere along the front line. JL

Artemy Medveduk reports in Espreso Global and Hromadske reports:

Ukrainian forces eliminated 1,710 Russian troops on Tuesday — nearly double the recent daily average of about 900 — while destroying significant amounts of enemy equipment - three tanks, 11 infantry fighting vehicles, 29 artillery, 1,189 drones and 230 vehicles. The Unmanned Systems Forces eliminated over 900 Russian soldiers in a 100 km long sector between Rodynske and Hulyaipol in a day and a half. The destruction coincided with Russia's attempt to intensify assaults in the spring-summer campaign. Despite intensive attacks, Russian troops failed to advance on any of the areas of the front.

Ukrainian forces eliminated 1,710 Russian troops on Tuesday — nearly double the recent daily average of about 900 — while destroying significant amounts of enemy equipment, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported.

Russian losses over the day also included three tanks, 11 armored fighting vehicles, 29 artillery systems, 1,189 UAVs and 230 units of automotive equipment.

The General Staff recorded 286 combat engagements, with Russian forces launching 78 airstrikes (dropping 257 guided aerial bombs), deploying 7,466 kamikaze drones and carrying out 3,722 shellings of settlements and Ukrainian positions (including 227 from multiple-launch rocket systems).

Ukrainian aviation, missile troops and artillery struck three enemy UAV control points and three troop clusters.

Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces eliminated over 900 Russian soldiers in a 100 km long section of the front between Rodynske and Hulyaipol in a day and a half.

This was announced by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Magyar" Brody.

According to him, the sharp deterioration of the weather on March 17-18 in the Dobropol, Pokrovsky, and Hulyaipol directions coincided with the Russian Federation's attempt to intensify assault operations within the framework of the spring-summer campaign. Russian units tried to use the fog for covert advancement and infiltration by small groups.

However, Brovdy notes, these actions were detected and disrupted thanks to the work of drones. Before midnight on March 17, Ukrainian drone operators had destroyed more than a hundred Russian soldiers who were trying to advance under the cover of bad weather.

On the morning of March 17, the enemy expanded its attacks, involving infantry, armored vehicles, motorcycles, and other vehicles on several sections of the front. During the day, Ukrainian drone units hit more than 500 Russian soldiers, of whom 292 were irretrievably killed, and another 221 were injured.

On the night of March 18, fighting continued in fog of varying density. As of noon, additional Russian losses amounted to 277 people. Of these, 141 were killed and 136 were wounded.

Broddi stressed that despite intensive attacks, Russian troops failed to advance on any of the areas of the front. He also noted that overall enemy losses could be higher, taking into account the work of adjacent units and ground forces.
