Ukraine Ground Drones Assault, Destroy Russian Ammunition Depot

Demonstrating their increasingly effective and lethal capabilities, ground drones operated by Ukraine's 3rd Assault Brigade attacked and destroyed a Russian ammunition depot behind the front line.

Russian defenders attempted to disrupt the Ukrainian ground drone attack with FPV aerial drones and artillery, but the Ukrainian robots maneuvered their way through unharmed and detonated their explosive payloads destroying the Russian ammunition cache. JL

Iryna Levytska reports in Ukraine Pravda:

Ground robotic systems of Ukraine's 3rd Assault Brigade struck Russian ammunition stocks despite four FPV drones, seven aerial drops and six artillery strikes. "Two robots manoeuvered, broke through the attacks and successfully delivered the explosives." A powerful explosion and heavy smoke were recorded. The targeted structure appears to be an industrial facility on the premises of a business production workshop. "The Russians burned through ammunition worth millions but failed to stop the ground robots." In January alone, Ukraine carried out 7,000 missions involving ground drones.

Ground robotic systems of Ukraine's 3rd Separate Assault Brigade struck Russian ammunition stocks despite FPV drones, aerial drops and artillery fire. A video of the operation, codenamed Samurai, was published on the unit's social media.

Details: The mission was carried out by operators of the NC13 unit. The footage shows ground robotic systems of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade moving across a snow-covered area towards a Russian facility in an industrial zone, manoeuvring between debris and fencing.

According to the military, the Russians attempted for hours to stop the robots – the video recorded at least four FPV drones, seven aerial drops and six artillery strikes.

"After spotting three kamikaze ground robotic systems heading to strike the enemy, the Russians went all in, deploying FPVs, drops and artillery. Thanks to precise control, two robots manoeuvred, broke through the attacks and successfully delivered the explosives," the statement said.

As seen in the footage, despite the attacks, the robots continued moving and reached the building, after which a powerful explosion and heavy smoke were recorded. The targeted structure appears to be an industrial facility on the premises of a company– likely a production workshop or technical site.

"Yes, the occupiers burned through ammunition worth millions, but not the ground robotic systems operated by the NC13 unit, which had both a route and a target that was successfully destroyed," the brigade said.

According to the brigade, the strike destroyed Russian ammunition stocks.
