Ukraine Establishes Fire Control Over Russian-Occupied Donetsk Airport

As part of its expanding 'logistics lockdown' of Russian capabilities, Ukraine's drone forces have now established fire control over the occupied Donetsk airport, which has been turned by the Russians into a logistics hub and drone launch site.

By doing so, the Ukrainians have further degraded Russia's ability to maintain its army in the field, contributing to the relative loss of tactical initiative at the front. JL

Stanislav Pohorilov reports in Ukraine Pravda:

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces (14th Regiment) has taken Donetsk airport under fire control, destroying Shahed loitering munition launchers, construction cranes, vehicles and supply depots at the facility in the first operation of its kind. "The occupiers turned Donetsk airport into a military logistics hub and a launch platform for Shahed attack drones. Our forces are systematically burning enemy infrastructure, launch systems, vehicles and crews, degrading the airport and making operations impossible."

The 1st Separate Centre of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) (14th Regiment) has reported taking Donetsk airport under fire control, destroying Shahed loitering munition launchers, construction cranes, vehicles and supply depots at the facility in the first operation of its kind.

Quote: "The occupiers have turned Donetsk airport into a military logistics hub and a key launch platform for Shahed attack drones. Our unit is systematically burning out enemy infrastructure, making operation of the airfield impossible."

Details: The unit reported that attack drone operators are destroying launch systems, transport vehicles and wiping out crews directly on the runway.

"In parallel, we are conducting systematic hunting of enemy mobile fire groups and air defence assets, forcing the enemy to cancel sorties," the statement reads.

The military also explained that by striking engineering equipment, fuel tankers and logistics nodes, they are fully degrading the airfield ecosystem. "The result of our work – destroyed Shahed drone launchers, construction cranes, enemy vehicles and supply depots eliminated," the USF wrote.

"Fire control of Donetsk airport, carried out by the 1st Separate Centre, is an example of an asymmetric operation in which exclusively small forces disrupted the enemy's operational and strategic plans. This is what makes us who we are," stated Serafym "Falko" Hordiienko, the officer responsible for planning the operation.
